Paul Hegarty

Paul Hegarty arrived at Tannadice from Hamilton Accies just as the club was entering its golden age. Hegarty was converted from a forward into a centre half at United and he developed a successful partnership with David Narey.

Paul captained the club to a League title and two League Cup successes. He also helped United reach the semi final of the European Cup in 1984 as well as the 1987 UEFA Cup final when United lost on aggregate to IFK Gothenburg.

Craig Brewster

Craig, who became Dundee United player manager in 2006, is a hero at Tannadice from his earlier playing days.  In 1994 he scored the goal which won Dundee United the Scottish Cup for the first time and finally ended their hoodoo in the competition.

Brewster grew up supporting Dundee United and made 90 appearances for the club, scoring 40 goals between 1993 and 1996. He also played for Forfar Athletic, Raith Rovers, Ionikos in Greece, Hibernian, Dunfermline and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
