Rangers are through to the final of the UEFA Cup on May 14 after a memorable penalty shoot-out win over Fiorentina.

After a 0-0 draw at Ibrox, Walter Smith's men again shut out their hosts and won 4-2 on penalties, with Nacho Novo scoring the decisive kick.

Rangers now meet Zenit St Petersburg at the City of Manchester Stadium after Dick Advocaat's men thrashed tournament favourites 5-1 on aggregate.

Thrilled manager Smith, who has guided Rangers to their first European final since they won the 1972 Cup Winners' Cup, said: "I'm delighted for everyone connected with the club that we've managed to get to the final. It's been a fantastic achievement, right from the start of the season."
