Celtic boss Gordon Strachan has been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Manager of the Month for April.

An excellent month saw Celtic pick up 12 points from a possible 15, including two Old Firm victories which helped reignite their title aspirations. Gordon Strachan's side currently top the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.

In addition to Gordon's award, Celtic midfielder Barry Robson is the Clydesdale Bank Premier League Player of the Month.

Barry started the month as substitute in Celtic's defeat to Motherwell but has since established himself as a key member of Gordon Strachan's starting eleven, rounding off April by scoring the winning goal in the most recent Old Firm match.

This is Barry's second Player of the Month award, having previously won in January for his performances with former club Dundee United.

A panel of Scottish football experts chose the award winners from a shortlist which included the top three fans' nominations from Clydesdale Bank's football website, www.cbfootball.co.uk .

Football fans can vote for their Manager, Player and Young Player of the Month during the last week of each month, at www.cbfootball.co.uk. Each month one fan will be selected to win a prize.
